"Perpetrators Pretending To Be Victims,"Dhruv Rathee Reacts To Allegations Of Swati Maliwal

Prominent Youtuber Dhruv Rathee, in a social media post today, rebuked the instigating trolls allegations of the AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal as fake and said it is a coordinated attempt to defame him.

The AAP Rajya Sabha MP had on Sunday alleged that some leaders of her party are running a campaign for her character assassination and victim shaming and that she has been receiving rape and death threats. Maliwal also claimed that the threats escalated after Dhruv Rathee posted a one-sided video against her. She also claimed that when she tried to reach out to the Youtuber to explain her version, she was ignored. 

However, reacting to the allegations, Dhruv Rathee, who came to the limelight attacking the saffron party and Prime Minister Modi and enjoys a wide viewership, said the irony is that perpetrators are pretending to be victims. “Fake allegations against me, daily death threats, dehumanizing insults, coordinated campaigns to defame me … I’m used to it by now. The irony is that perpetrators are pretending to be victims. Everyone knows who is behind all this. They want to silence me. But that’s not gonna happen. If you silence 1 Dhruv Rathee, 1000 new ones will rise up,” the Youtuber wrote in a post on his social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

Maliwal had noted several points in the 2.5-minute video on Youtuber as one-sided. She alleged that Rathee failed to mention many facts. Referring to his video, she further said that It was shameful that people like Rathee, who claim to be independent journalists, could act like other AAP spokespersons “and victim shame me to the extent that I am now facing extreme abuses and threats.” 

Accusing that the party”s entire machinery is being used against her, Maliwal said said in any case, if something happens to her, all know who all instigated it.

At a time when vloggers are becoming popular influencers and opinion leaders among the public, Dhruv Rathee has managed to draw the attention of a huge chunk of the country”s youth.
