Prajwal Revanna Releases Video; Says Would Return To India On May 31 To Appear Before SIT

Sexual harassment accused Prajwal Revanna today reportedly released a video, claiming that all the charges against him were false, and that he would return to India and appear before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on May 31. The Karnataka government had set up an SIT to probe the sexual harassment allegations against the JD(U) Hassan MP, Times of India reports.

Prajwal had left the country on April 27, following the video of the sexual harassment involving the grandson of the former Prime Minister Deva Gowda emerged online. The 33-year-old also said that he apologies to his family.

Notably, the NDA Hassan candidate”s video came amid reports of the central government processing the Karnataka government”s request to cancel the diplomatic passport of the sexual harassment accused.

Interpol had also issued A “Blue Corner Notice” seeking information on Prajwal on the state government”s Special Investigation Team”s request.

In the video, Prajwal further claimed that the political drama dragged him into depression and isolation, adding that a political conspiracy was hatched against him. “Rahul Gandhi and many other Congress leaders started talking about it and against me and a political conspiracy was formed against me… At 10 am on Friday, May 31, I will appear before SIT and provide all information to the investigation. I will support the investigation. I have faith in the judiciary,” he was quoted by news agency ANI.

Prajwal said that his foreign trip was pre-planned, noting that he went abroad when there were no cases against him including SIT. Prajwal had left the country on April 27, a day after the elections. He also said that he knew the allegations against him while he was on the trip.

The sex video of Prajwal Revanna abusing several women in multiple instances was leaked last month, triggering uproar against the JD(U) leader, a BJP ally.

The former Karnataka chief minister Kumaraswamy had blamed the deputy chief minister DK Shiva Kumar for the release of the sexual harassment video. However, Congress leader Kumaraswamy had reacted by saying that he was neither a director nor a producer. “I am only an exhibitor, theatre exhibitor.”
