Prajwal Revanna’s Ex-driver Says He Gave Video Clips Only To BJP Leader, Not Congress

Edited by Fazal Rahman Chembulangad

After the Karnataka BJP leader Devaraje Gowda said that the video clips of the sexual abuse of JDS MP Prajwal Revanna was first leaked to the Congress leaders, the Hassan MP’s former driver, Karthik today, denied the claim saying that he did not share the pendrive with Congress leaders.

The BJP leader Gowda had on Monday told reporters that Karthik had told him that he had given the copy of the video to Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar and other Congress leaders.

Notably, in the video released on Tuesday, Karthik can be heard saying that he has not given the pen drive to any Congress leader. “Why would I come to BJP if I could go to Congress,” he said, adding that he shared the video only with Gowda who had assured him to get justice.

Karthik then said that he did not know whether Gowda distributed the pen drive or gave it to someone else or whether BJP people did it. “But, I did not give the pen drive to anyone else except him. Now, he is blaming me for giving it to Congress leaders. If I were to give it to Congress leaders, why would I approach him for justice?

Karthik then clarified that he could submit all the documents regarding the case to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed by the Karnataka government over the issue.

The Hassan MP and NDA candidate who is facing charges of sexual harassment and criminal intimidation is the grandson of former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda and the son of Holenarasipur MLA and former minister H D Revanna.

The video of the alleged sex scandal surfaced on social media three days before the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections held on April 26.
