Victims 'Not Ready' For Legal Action Against Rahul Mamkootathil In Misconduct Allegations: Report

Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala:  Victims who recently accused former Youth Congress chief Rahul Mamkootathil of sexual misconduct and other offenses say they’re not interested in pursuing legal action against the Palakkad MLA. The allegations had drawn political consequences, including the removal of Mamkootathil from all party positions.

The victims are not ready to give a statement, according to a report by 24 News.

Kerala Crime Branch has reportedly uncovered digital evidence that two women were forced to undergo abortions, with officials probing Bengaluru hospital where the procedures are said to have taken place.

Kerala chief minister had earlier demanded the resignation of the legislator as Palakkad MLA. The chief minister also assured that the government would provide protection to the complainant, noting that he noticed the politician threatening the victim, referring to the leaked phone calls.

Notably, the purported women victim are yet to file any direct formal complaint in connection with the case. Earlier, there were reports that the Crime Branch is reportedly working to locate the victims and record their statements, adding that they will take steps to ensure their protection and encourage them to come forward.
