Prime Minister Narendra Modi to release the first instalment to 1 lakh beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) on Monday at 12 noon. The event will take place via video conferencing and he will interact with the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN) on the occasion.

PM-JANMAN was launched in agreement with the Prime Minister”s efforts to meet the vision of Antyodaya to emancipate “the last person at the last mile.” PM-JANMAN was started on November 15, 2023 for the socio-economic welfare of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs). Prime Minister”s Office (PMO) said that PM-JANMAN with a budget of approximately Rs 24,000 crore, focuses on 11 critical interventions through 9 Ministries.
The scheme aimed to improve socio-economic conditions of the PVTGs by saturating PVTG households and habitations with basic facilities such as safe housing, clean drinking water and sanitation, improved access to education, health and nutrition, electricity, road and telecom connectivity, and sustainable livelihood opportunities.

In the video event, the Prime Minister unveiled the digital transfer of an amount of Rs. 540 crore to 1 lakh beneficiaries, the sanction of 1200 kilometres of road in 541 habitations for Rs. 893 crores, the sanction of an electrification project in 70,263 households for Rs. 298 crores, the sanction of piped water supply in 1830 habitations for Rs. 220 crores, the sanction of 405 Van Dhan Vikas Kendra for Rs. 20 crores, the sanction of 918 Anganwadi Kendra for Rs. 126 crores, the sanction of 450 multipurpose centres for Rs. 270 crores, the sanction of 100 hostels for students for Rs. 275 crores, the sanction of 100 mobile medical units for Rs. 34 crores, and the sanction of 206 mobile towers for 503 habitations for Rs 240 crores.
