On Thursday, Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi met porters and workers at Delhi”s Anand Vihar Railway Station to understand about their issues and difficulties. The 53-year-old leader appeared in the station in iconic coolie uniform – red colour shirt with a badge tied to his arm. He has also picked up luggage and lifted on his head.

In the viral video, Mr. Gandhi in smile is seen carrying a trolley bag and walking amidst the crowd of porters chanting “Rahul Gandhi Zindabad.”

Congress said that Mr. Gandhi conversed with the workers on their hardships and concerns.

Regarding Congeress leader’s visit, party wrote on social media platform X, formerly Twitter: “People”s leader Rahul Gandhi met porters at Anand Vihar railway station in Delhi today. Recently, a video had gone viral in which the porters of the railway station had expressed their desire to meet him. Today Rahul reached there and listened to them. Bharat Jodo journey continues.”

Similarly, Telangana Youth Congress, posting video and photos of Wayanad MP at the station and wrote on X: “He came to listen to the hearts of the people…!!!”


With the aim of uniting India, Mr. Gandhi undertook the Bharat Jodo Yatra on September 7, last year from Kanyakumari and after having travelled 4,000 km and went on for 136 days, it had concluded on January 30 in Srinagar. The march has covered 12 states and two Union Territories. As the Yathra celebrated one year, there is increasing demand among the party members seeking for a second edition of Bharat Jodo Yatra before 2024 general election, no affirmative action has been yet. The first edition undoubtedly had left positive impression on people’s mind.
