New Delhi: After days of silence, Rajasthan High Court Acting Chief Justice Sanjeev Prakash Sharma finally reacted to the allegations raised against him several judges and organisations.

Issuing a statement regarding the controversy, justice Sanjeev Sharma denied the allegations of manipulation of case listings and misuse of administrative powers. Supreme Court Justice Sandeep Mehta had made the allegations public by writing a letter to the chief justice of India Surya Kant demanding the appointment of a Chief Justice from another State in the Rajasthan High Court with immediate effect.

In his statement, justice Sanjeev Sharma said the  allegations against him were baseless and made by Justice Mehta out of some resentment. Stating that he wanted to clarify the issue, the judge said he has  full faith in the Indian judicial system.

“Once the appropriate time arrives and I receive approval from the CJI, I will personally appear before the media to present my side; until then, I request everyone to remain patient,” justice Sanjeev Sharma stated.
