During the recent Telangana floods, a JCB driver, Subhan Khan, and its owner, Venkataramana risked their life and equipment worth lakhs, to save marooned people, inviting the attention of the public to the exemplary act. The JCB driver from Mewat district in Haryana has been hailed as a hero for the bravery he showcased in rescuing people trapped on the  Prakashnagar bridge across the Munneru river during floods.

Subhan, working as a JCB driver for the past seven years in Prakashnagar, was quick into action when the Munneru River overflowed, trapping many on the bridge. The JCB’s owner, Venkataramana, had contacted Subhan asking him if he could rescue the stranded people. Despite the risk to life, the driver agreed to take the vehicle. Though he was forced to return twice due to the overflow of the water, he finally managed to reach the top of the bridge and take back nine trapped persons. People waiting for Subhan welcomed the JCB with cheers as he returned with the stranded. They lauded the courage of the JCB driver.

Meanwhile, many also pointed out the selfless service of the JCB owner that he lost about 80,000 worth of oil and risked 35 Lakh rupees worth of his equipment. Several people including politicians have come out applauding the courageous act of the JCB driver. BRS leader and former minister KT Rama Rao said it is not just about a lot of guts, “you need the heart to be a true hero. You, my brother Subhan Khan have saved so many families from a lifelong pain by helping these nine people,” he wrote on his social media platform, adding that he congratulated the driver on phone.

Journalist, Revathi, tagging ‘The Real Bulldozer Justice,’ wrote a long post, about Subhan, ending, “Some heroes come on bulldozers” Fact-checker Muhammed Zubair sharing the post, wrote, “Story that caught the eye: A Hindu JCB owner Venkataramana risked his 35 lakh equipment and his Muslim driver Subhan Khan risked his life for saving 9 lives during the flood in Telangana.”
