Sanjay Raut Mocks Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar's Statement Terming Modi as "Yugupurush"

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut mocked Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Tuesday for his comment about Prime Minister Narendra Modi terming him the “Yugpurush” (person of the age) of the present (21st) century. Sanjay Raut said only history, centuries, and the world could decide who”s a “purush”, “Mahapurush”, or “Yugpurush. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar had called Prime Minister Narendra Modi the “Yugpurush” (person of the age) of the present (21st) century, while Mahatma Gandhi was the “Mahapurush” (great person) of the last (20th) century.

“I wish to say one thing… Mahatma Gandhi was the”mahapurush” of the last century… Narendra Modi is the “yugpurush” of this century,” Dhankhar can be heard saying in a video released by ANI. Slamming the statement, Raut said he is not considering those who are sitting in government, not even a “purush.” If they were so great, the Jawans wouldn”t have been killed in Jammu and Kashmir every other day, and China wouldn”t have entered Ladakh.

Raut also challenged the vice president to stick to his words after 2024, when a general election will be held, implying failure for the incumbent NDA government. Earlier, Sanjay Raut made headlines for deleting his “anti-Semitic” tweet.

Sanjay Raut wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, that he realized why Hitler used to hate the Jews so much following an Israel attack on Gaza”s Al-Shifa hospital. Later, he deleted the tweet, saying it was not intended to hurt the feelings of Israel.

The Israel Embassy, in a letter to the external affairs ministry, expressed their disappointment over Sanjay Raut”s “anti-Semitic” tweet.
