'Regional Realities': India's Foreign Minister Questioned Over Iranian Ship Sunk By US In Indian Ocean
New Delhi: A sharp exchange took place on Saturday as India’s foreign minister S Jaishankar was questioned journalist on US navy sinking Iranian ship in the Indian Ocean near the country’s territory.
When asked about the incident, the minister replied, “If you’re asking me a serious question, I will give you a serious reply.” The journalist then asked, “Is it not a serious question if India is not the net security provider in the Indian Ocean?

During the interview, the minister affirmed India as being the net security provider in the region, adding that the status, however, does not override regional realities involving other countries’ maritime presence.
The exchange sparked widespread discussion on social media, with many expressing doubt on how much influence India holds in the Indian ocean.
