New Delhi: Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his reply to a question related to Industrialist Gautam Adani in the United States. He accused Modi of covering up Adani’s “corruption”.
In a post on X, Gandhi attacked PM Modi for “maintaining silence” in the country when questions being over the Adani issue and terms it as a “personal matter” on foreign soil.

“If you ask questions in the country, there is silence. If you ask abroad, it is a personal matter! Even in America, Modi Ji covered up Adani Ji’s corruption! When filling a friend’s pocket is “nation building” for Modiji, then taking bribes and looting the nation’s wealth becomes a “personal matter,” Gandhi said in X.

During a joint media briefing with US President Donald Trump in Washington, PM Modi was asked if the ‘Gautam Adani case’ was figured during the meeting, PM Modi said: “India is a democracy and our culture is ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’. We consider the whole world as one family. I believe every Indian is mine.”
When it comes to personal matters, “two prominent leaders of two countries will never discuss anything on an individual matter,” he added.
During the visit, PM Modi and US President discussed a wide range of issues, including weapons sales, trade, and tariffs. Indian Prime Minister arrived in the US from France on Wednesday (February 12) for the two-day bilateral talks and he is fourth global leader to meet Trump at the White House since his inauguration on January 20.
