A video of Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) beating up a passenger on Barauni-Lucknow Express (15203) has gone viral social media. Many netizens have come reacting to the video demanding immediate action against the accused.

In the viral video, the TTE of the train was captured beating and assaulting a passenger on board while he was examining the tickets of the passengers travelling. The co-passenger managed to capture the incident on the mobile phone. However, the TTE was also seen trying to snatch away the mobile.

According to the Indian Railways, the TTE has been suspended and a probe has been initiated against the officer.

“A video surfaces on social media of TTE on Barauni-Lucknow express slapping a passenger. The concerned TTE has been suspended by the competent authority and an inquiry has been initiated against the concerned,” news agency ANI quoted Indian Railway as saying.

Reacting to the video, senior journalist Rajdeep Sardesai commented, “A few days ago, Indigo passenger slapping a pilot. Now, video surfaces of TTE on Barauni Lucknow express slapping passenger. Does TTE have right to slap passenger (if ticketless travel, throw the law book.. not assault the passenger) . Impunity of power over aam aadmi? @RailMinIndia”.

While another wrote, “The video is from today. TT is beating like this in Barauni-Lucknow Express (15203). Railway Minister @AshwiniVaishnaw ji, tell me do you have the freedom to beat these people like this? Are goons named after TT? Why is it in the system? The video is clear, take action. And yes, stop considering people as insects. Seeing all this makes me angry.”
