Three 13-year-old girls from rural Tamil Nadu, determined to meet their ‘idols’ K-pop band BTS, left their homes to travel to Seoul were found at Katpadi railway station. Passionate fans of BTS, the hugely popular Korean pop band, the girls, all aged 13 and students of Class 8 in a state-run school, decided to go all the way to Seoul, the South Korean capital, to meet their loved stars

With a budget of Rs 14,000 scraped together from piggy banks, the three little fans decided to take train from Erode to Chennai. Their plan includes somehow getting into Chennai and then to catch a ship all the way to South Korea.

The girls initially planned to travel in the month of December but had to cancel in the last minute.

The initial excitement faded when the girls met the reality. The girls were found from Katpadi station. The train departed, when they got down to have a tea. Being completely puzzled, three of them stayed back in the railway station. The police officer in the railway station when enquired got to know about their saga.

The girls left their homes on January 4th. After reaching Chennai, they have even booked a room for Rs 12,000. In Chennai, the girls decided to drop their plans and head back to home town. A missing case has been already registered in their native police station.

The official said the children were encouraged to focus only on studies which would help them realise their dreams, whatever it may be. “We told the children about the importance of education and its value and advised the parents to keep an eye on what their children do.” The teens were told that smartphones and the internet, though useful in everyday life, should be utilised primarily for education purposes.

The parents were requested to make suitable arrangements to take care of their children to ensure that they get support and guidance. After counselling, the children were sent to their home district with their parents and they took a train on January 6 night, reports PTI.
