The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has once again extended the deadline for free updation of Aadhaar for three months. The new extension starts from December 14 to March 14, 2023.
The resident can do the service for free on the myAadhaar portal, and it will cost a fee of RS50 at physical Aadhaar centres.
The official memorandum issued by the UIAI states: “Based on the positive response from the residents, it is decided to extend the facility for 3 more months i.e. from 15.12.2023 to 14.03.2024. Accordingly, the facility for document update shall continue to be free of cost through myAadhaar portal.”
UIDAI has been continuously telling the residents to upload proof of identity and proof of Address (PoI/PoA) documents to revalidate the demographic data, especially in cases where the Aadhaar was issued ten years ago and the same never got updated.
If the residents want to change their demographic details, including their name, date of birth, address and so on, they need to use the online update services to update them, or they can visit the nearby Aadhaar centre.
