Uttar Pradesh's 'Gen Alpha' School Students Win Protest Over Poor Amenities, Get Written Assurance On Demands

Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh: Following the ‘Generation Alpha’ students protest in Uttar Pradesh, the protesters have reportedly won written assurance from the school authorities over poor facilities.

Following the echoes of CJP’s Jantar Mantar protest, commonly known as ‘Gen Z’ demonstration, Gen Alpha’s protest for basic amenities in school became successful after the intervention of local officials and administration.

Hundreds of school students from Generation Alpha had staged around five-hour protest in Sarvodaya Inter College, a government-aided school with nearly 1,800 students in Kishanpur town, Fatehpur district, Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, July 28. Students marched through the locality holding portraits of B.R. Ambedkar. Students raised slogans such as ‘Jai Bhim, Jai Gen Alpha’.

Protesters alleged that midday meals had never been served in accordance with the prescribed menu. Students also alleged that there is no cleanliness in the school, benches-desks are broken, The condition of drinking water and toilets is poor. They further pointed out that despite repeated complaints, no action has been taken so far.

Several political figures including Chandrashekhar Azad, Nagina MP and president of the Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram), and Aam Aadmi Party, had shared the viral protest video.

The CJP also shared the Gen-Alpha protest, stating they have won their first battle. “They won, and the decision has been made. : Four fans will be installed in each classroom : Wiring will be repaired : Desks and benches will be available within a month : An RO water cooler will be installed,” the CJP wrote in a social media post. The CJP had earlier asked the authorities to hear the students and fulfill their demands.

The CJP-led Gen Z’s unprecedented Jantar Mantar protest recently forced former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to resign from the post over exam irregularities and NEET paper leak. The government was also forced to accept the protesters demands after 36 days of demonstrations.
