Nurul Hasan Liyaqat Shikalgar, who died in communal violence triggered over a social media post at Pusesawali village in Maharashtra’s Satara district on Sunday was the only child of his parents.
The violence claimed Mr Hasan”s life and left ten person injured. He was the sole bread earner of the family and his wife is seven months pregnant.
The local authorities suspended the internet and other services, and locked down the village in order to control the situation. As many as 23 people have been booked in the case, four minors detained and four are absconding, Hindustan Times quoted the police.

“Nurul was a civil engineer and used to take up civil work contracts. On September 10, he had gone to offer namaz in the mosque in the evening. There were only 10 to 15 people there. Around 8:30 pm, a large crowd turned up and started pelting stones”, the news agency PTI quoted Mr Hasan”s relative.
“Those who were inside closed the door, but the mob broke open the door and set the motorbikes parked outside the mosque on fire”, he said.
“Some people in the mob attacked Mr Hasan and others with rods and tiles”, he claimed adding that Mr Hasan was the only breadwinner of the family.
According to the Superintendent of Police Sameer Shaikh, an ivestigation into the violence and the objectionable post is going on, says reports.
