Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister, D K Shivakumar, has dismissed speculation surrounding his trip to the United States, stating it is purely for personal reasons and not politically motivated. “My visit has no political motive nor is it due to any political invitation,” Shivakumar clarified, urging the public to refrain from spreading rumours.
Despite his assertions, speculation remains rife about potential high-profile meetings during his visit, with sources suggesting Shivakumar could meet US Vice-President Kamala Harris and former President Barack Obama.
According to sources close to Shivakumar’s office, the Deputy Chief Minister has received an invitation from the Democratic Party to attend an event where the meetings are anticipated. Although details remain uncertain, it is unclear in which city the potential meetings might occur.
Shivakumar is expected to return to India on 15th September after a week-long stay in the US.
Here’s DK Shivakumar’s statement:
“Regarding my upcoming visit to the United States of America, I would like to dispel the ongoing rumours- my visit is purely for personal reasons and is no way related to any political motive, nor is it due to any political invitation. I request everyone to kindly refrain from indulging in any kind of conjecture.”
