Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh: After grabbing headlines for sentencing 23 people to death in 11 cases in the last 5 months, Additional Sessions Judge Ravi Kumar Diwakar on Friday questioned the move to transfer nearly 100 criminal cases from his court by the Muzaffarnagar District and Sessions Judge.

Calling out the injustice, the judge lamented that where he would get redress stating that where does a judge go when justice happens with him despite him being the provider of justice.

“Is a Judge, who discharges his duties under administrative control of District Judge, bound to accept such orders of District Judge which are contrary to law, i.e., without jurisdiction?,” Justice Diwakar asked.

The judge had alleged that many cases were transferred out of his court to benefit gangsters and the mafia.
