Who Is Kaziah Liz Mejo, The Kerala Teen Crowned Miss Universe India 2026?
Kaziah Liz Mejo has won the Miss Universe India 2026, defeating at least 52 other contestants in at the 75th Miss Universe pageant in Puerto Rico in November on Sunday, August 23.
The 19-year-old girl from Kerala’s Mavelikkara beat the fellow contestants at Zee Studios held in Rajasthan. The event marks Liz Mejo Kerala’s first national winner of the title. The teen girl would now represent India at the 75th Miss Universe pageant in Puerto Rico in November this year.

Vaishnavi Gannesh from Tamil Nadu became the the first runner-up, while Gujarat’s Anushri Satavlekar finished as the second runner-up and won the Miss International India 2026 title.
Who Is Kaziah Liz Mejo
A law student from Mavelikkara, Liz Mejo had won the Miss Teen Diva 2024 when she was 17. She also represented India at Miss Teen International 2025 and finished as the first runner-up. Liz Mejo also won Miss Universe Kerala 2026 and became the youngest state titleholder.

Liz Mejo grew up in UAE, and had her schooling at Emirates National School, St Joseph’s School and Abu Dhabi Indian School. Currently, she is pursuing law while also working as a model. Liz Mejo has trained in classical dance for 12 years, and she also sings and play the drums and violin. She also also explored public speaking.
In her speech at the event, she shared her three-year journey and excitement to represent India at the Miss Universe pageant in Puerto Rico this November. Liz Mejo has also tried acting with her debut in the Malayalam film Shylock.
