Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said “the journey will continue, till hatred vanishes and India unites” on X on Thursday as Congress celebrates the first anniversary of Bharat Jodo Yatra.

The post includes a small montage video of his foot long 4,000 km journey from Kanyakumari to Kashmir this day last year.

“The crores of steps of Bharat Jodo Yatra towards unity and love have become the foundation of a better tomorrow for the country. The journey continues – till hatred vanishes, till India unites. This is my promise!”, the former Congress chief wrote on X.

Congress believes that the 150-day non-stop march led by Rahul Gandhi covering 12 states and two union territories had a transformational impact on the organisation and it resulted in the victory in Karnataka.

To mark one year anniversary, Congress has decided to organize foot marches in 722 places across the country, with members of the Congress Working Committee, state Congress presidents, and Congress Legislature Party leaders instructed to participate in Bharat Jodo padayatras to recreate the central message of the yatra. Apparently, Rahul will not be there to mark the yathra’s anniversary as he is in a Europe tour.

The yathra is said to be continued in small forms as Bharat Jodo rally in districts. A nationwide rally is expected to begin closer to the Lokh Sabha election dates, and it will be from west to east this time.

Congress party chief, Mallikarjun Kharge congratulated Rahul Gandhi being the centre part of the journey and all other Indians who have been part of this journey on X.

He has highlighted the purpose of Bharat Jodo Yatra by highlighting the point “the Yatra seeks to bring real issues of economic inequalities, price rise, unemployment, social injustices, subversion of Constitution, centralisation of power, to the centre stage of people’s imagination”.

Several Congress leaders have also come up with congratulation post on social media platforms.
