Yesuvadiyaan lost his father, Lourd Francis on April 25, 2023. His father, a village administrative officer was murdered by men involved in illegal mining.

Lourd Francis was considered an honest officer who fought against illegal sand mining. His son, Yesuvadiyaan has now become a Civil Court Judge after clearing the examination held by Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission.

Lourd Francis, the village administrative officer of Murappanadu, was killed by the sand mafia when Yesuvadiyaan was about to finish his education.

After achieving his father’s dream, as a message of his success, he said, “I want youth like me to study hard. Education can only give us a good position in life. My family was giving me all the support I needed”.

Yesuvadiyaan completed his studies in a government school in Pudukottai and completed his law degree in Chennai.

Ramasubramanian, Ramasubbu, and Marimuthu, the three accused were convicted of murder and were sentenced to life imprisonment in September 2023 by the Thuthukudi Principle court.

The convicts, last year in April, barged into the office of Murappandu village administrative officer and hacked him to death for lodging a police complaint against them.

As per the TOI report, he was attacked using sickles. Lourd who was injured on the head though was rushed to the Tirunelveli Medical College hospital, but they were not able to save his life. Police said that the village officer had filed a complaint against one of the convicts for smuggling sand from the Thamirabarani River in the Tuticorin district.

Condoling the death of ‘a sincere and dedicated officer in the line of duty’, Chief Minister MK Stalin announced a compensation of Rs 1 crore to his family besides a job for a close relative.
