Cognizant, the professional services company has announced an exciting off-campus mass hiring drive, as per a social media trend on X. The X post shared by Indian Tech & Infra shared the information on the mass hiring process by the Cognizant and said that applications are welcomed from candidates from the 2024 batch with salary packages of INR 2.52 LPA.

The recent graduates will be hired with a package of 2.52 Lakh Per Annum which has prompted a debate on the amount paid to the professional service company.

People have given the reaction to the cognizant announcement on social media X. One user said, “Engineering Degree is a SCAM?!!” He further added that the “Cognizant is reportedly offering Rs 2.5 LPA to 2024 batch passouts!…Fresher salaries in the early 2000s were in this range!”.

Another user wrote, “2.52 LPA is very generous. What will the graduates do with so much money”.
One user questioned the packages given to the freshers despite making big revenues and said. “MNCs have Revenues increased from Millions to Billions to Trillions. But they are giving same package to freshers as 20 years ago & not even giving yearly appraisal equal to inflation & increase in House Rental/Prices. Bcz we have pro-Corporates & Rich Gov, not pro-People gov”
“That’s barely enough to cover a year’s rent in a village and a few packets of Maggi. Cognizant must be running an experiment to see if people can live on chai and hope”, wrote another user while targeting the low salary package.
