Railways Releases 1 Lakh Group D Vacancies? What’s The Truth

Edited by Uzma Parveen

A Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) notification informing over 1 Lakh Group D vacancies is viral on social media. Since RRB hasn’t posted any such information on its official website, the recruitment notification looks fraudulent and looks like a con job by people who wanted to get some easy clicks for their website.

The fake notification with striking similarities to Railways Recruitment Board notifications informs about the tentative application submission deadline between January and February. It informs for total 103769 posts which includes assistant workshop, bridge, C and W, Depot, Loco Shed and Postman positions among others. The notification does not specify any date of examination.

In the past, Railway Recruitment Board has warned against any fake notification related to Jobs and advised candidate to follow the recruitment notices issued on the official website of RRBs. The Recruitment Board has also asked candidates to cross-check all information received from any other source.

Earlier, a recruitment scam came into light wherein 28 job seekers were duped for TTE jobs at New Delhi Railway Station. Candidates were asked to pay money ranging from 2 to 24 lakhs making it over a Rs. 2.5 crore scam.

RRB websites stated to ignore any information or notice circulated on the social media platforms regarding RRBs. It asked candidates to beware of touts and job racketeers trying to deceive them through false promises by securing jobs in Railway through influence or using unfair means.

The recruitment notifications are generally released on official letterhead of Railway Recruitment Board but the dubious notification does not carry any railway or government of India symbol apart from an Indian Railways Logo.
