The Uttar Pradesh government decided to stop the salaries of nearly 2.44 lakh government employees, however, reportedly the decision was reversed within 16 hours. As per the reports, the UP government took decision to stop salaries of such employees who did not disclose their property details online. Now the government has decided to increase the last date of declaration till September 30, 2024.
The government order demanded all state govt employees to upload property details on the Manav Sampada Portal by August 31. However, so far only 71 percent of the employees declared their assets.
A total of nearly 2,44,565 employees did not receive their August salary after they failed to disclose property details online. Salaries have been withheld in various departments under the state government.
As per the latest development, the UP government has given 1 more month to the employees to update the online information. Reports say that this is taken as the last ultimatum from the government.
The decision was taken on the lines of IAS, IPS, PPS, and PCS officers, which makes it compulsory for the state government employees to furnish the property details online. Teachers, corportate employees and employees of autonomous institutions were not included in this.
Reportedly, the Chief Secretary of the UP govt wrote a letter to heads of all departments asking government employees to declare their movable and immovable assests by August 31 or else they will not be promoted. Now the government has taken a tough step to those not abiding by the order.
