UPPSC To Make 6 Major Changes To Prevent Paper Leak At Exam Centres

After the leak of the preliminary question paper of the Review officer (RO)/Assistant Review Officer (ARO) in Uttar Pradesh, the UPPSC or the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission is set to make a significant changes in its examination system. Reportedly, the collusion of non-funded schools has come to light in the paper leak case.

Towards this end, a recommendation will be made by the commission to the state government not to set up centers in such unfunded schools. Only rajkiya schools and government-funded schools will be made centers for these examinations. Now, the commission will ask for the proposed list of the school centers from the districts a month ago. If any chance the name of any non-funded school is proposed then the commission will inform the government about its inability to conduct the exam in that school. Moreover, to facilitate candidates from distant places, the center will be built within the premises of 15 kilometers from the district headquarters.

To maintain the transparency of the examination, there will be a provision of opening the question papers in front of the Sector Magistrate. At present a single sector magistrate hands over packets of question papers in 4-5 centres. Sometimes in the absence of center superintendents, packets have to be given to other workers. The time interval between receiving the packet and starting the test is very sensitive and the chances of any malpractice are high.

Hence, from now onwards there will be a single sector magistrate for each center. The same Sector Magistrate will reach the school with packets of question papers from the treasury and will open the packets in his presence and distribute them among the candidates.

As per the reports, the commission is now waiting for the investigation of STF, and after that important decisions will be taken. Even the Commission officials are surprised by the leakage of the RO/ARO preliminary exam question paper as it does not guarantee the exam because the main exam was to be held in the next round.
