Kerala: Dr PK Raheemudheen has won the Kerala State-level Johnson Airoor Psychology Award for his article “Were Children Given Behavioural Vaccines?”

The article was  published in Mathrubhumi Arogyamasika in September 2025. The Johnson Airoor State Psychology Award is presented by the Johnson Airoor Commemoration Forum. The award will be handed over by MLA Aryadan Shoukath at a function in Johnson Airoor’s residence in Nilambur on the 8th of this month.

The award includes a cash prize of Rs. 10,000, along with the certificate of appreciation.  Dr Raheemudheen’s award winning article underlines the importance of reactive measures to treat the rising adolescent behavioural issues like school violence, substance abuse, social media addiction, and low tolerance.

In his article, the Psychologist proposed ‘Behaviour Vaccination’ introducing preventive intervention through schools, parents, and communities. The article educates to reaching emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, life skills, and digital discipline to build resilience in children. The author argues that this proactive approach would reduce aggression, addiction, and mental health struggles, while fostering responsible, emotionally stable future generations.
