
"I Once Sought Clearance To Kill Dawood Ibrahim": Major Ravi Reveals Covid Hindered The Mission
Kochi, Kerala: Retired army man Major A K Ravindran, known as Major Ravi, has revealed that he once sought clearance for a mission to eliminate underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, designated as a global terrorist by India and the US, with a $25 million bounty on his head for his alleged role in the 1993 Bombay bombings.
Known as a gang leader, mob boss, drug dealer, and terrorist, Dawood Ibrahim is one of the world’s top 10 most wanted fugitives, according to the US Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Talking about the mission, the retired major of the Indian Army stated that he asked the union government for permission for a clandestine mission to kill the underworld don. “I don’t do anything for my benefit. If some anti-national things happen here, I alert the top leadership. That is all. My last personal request to the Center was permission for a clandestine mission to kill Dawood Ibrahim,” the ex-major said during an interview with The New Indian Express.
Major Ravi further said that ten former commandos were willing to join him in the mission. “We had a clear plan. “But then Cuba struck, and the mission did not take off,” Major Ravi added, the media house quoted.

Major Ravi, unlike many other retired army personnel, is famous for his outspoken socio-political views. He has acted in several movies besides directing a few others. Known for his admiration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Major Ravi is also said to be a maverick politician.
