Kerala Election Results: BJP Takes Huge Gains In Thiruvananthapuram, UDF Leads Overall In Early Trends

Counting of votes for the Kerala Local Body Elections 2025 is underway, and early trends show a close fight among the LDF, UDF, and BJP-led NDA.

While the UDF is ahead overall across local bodies, the BJP has made a strong surge in the Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation, emerging as a major force in the capital city.

According to early data, in Thiruvananthapuram Corporation, the BJP-led NDA is leading in 27 wards, ahead of the LDF with 16 wards and the UDF with 11 wards as of 10:21 am.

Across Kerala, in the three-tier grama panchayats covering 17,337 wards, the LDF is leading in 4,296 wards, while the UDF is close behind with 4,193 wards. The NDA is also showing strength, leading in 992 grama panchayat wards.

In block panchayats, the UDF leads in 847 of 2,267 wards, compared to 758 for the LDF. In district panchayats, the UDF is ahead in 180 of 346 wards, while the LDF leads in 147 wards.

The UDF is also ahead in municipalities, leading in 1,125 of 3,240 wards, while the LDF leads in 857 wards. In municipal corporations, the UDF is leading in 149 of 421 wards, followed by the LDF with 96 wards, while the NDA is ahead in 14 wards.

In the Kozhikode Municipal Corporation, the LDF has won six wards, including Eranhikkal, Naduvattam, Palayam, and Mathottam. Meanwhile, the BJP has won seven wards in Thiruvananthapuram Corporation, including Nemom, Sreekanteswaram, and Chettivilakam.

The BJP has also recorded gains in Ernakulam and Palakkad districts, winning and leading in multiple municipal wards.
