Kerala Local Body Election Results: UDF Takes Early Lead As Tight Race Continues
Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala: As the counting is underway for the local body elections in Kerala, the United Democratic Front (UDF) is leading the number of seats in Grama Panchayat, Municipality and Corporations, as per the latest information released by the state election commission. The counting for the results of the 2025 local body elections in the state was kicked off at 8 am.
The Congress-led UDF holds strong leads in grama panchayats, municipalities, block panchayats, and four of six municipal corporations as counting progressed midday. UDF has won 1442 Panchayats while the CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) secured around 1164 seats. The BJP-led NDA won around 269 seats, as per the latest updates.

The UDF is also ahead in 43 municipalities, 7 district panchayats and 4 corporations, while the LDF was leading in 26 municipalities, 6 district panchayats and one corporation.
The complete results are expected to be declared by Saturday afternoon.
