Kottakkal, Kerala: Aligarh Muslim University Old Students’ Association, Kerala (AMUOSAK) is organising the ‘LAURALIA ALIGARIA’ program today, Saturday, at 6:30 PM at the Universal Institute, Kottakkal.
This event, which is meant to honor the talents and award winners within the Alig family provides an opportunity to reconnect with old friends and reminisce about past experiences and share stories of bygone campus life, according to the organisers.

The program also serves as a motivation for the students and the young graduates to run after their dreams while making the alumni feel proud about the fellow Aligarians’ achievement.
Lok Sabha MP Abdussamad Samadani will inaugurate the session while Professor Abid Hussain Thangal, MLA, and former Education Minister PK Abdurrab, two of the esteemed alumni, will be guests of honor. A total of eight dignitaries will be honored for their contributions in different fields.

The achievers to be laurelled are S. Kamarudheen for his works in creative writing and children’s literature; Dr. Nazer Yusuf, cardiothoracic surgery; Professor Rafeedali E, educational innovations and leadership; Professor MM Musthafa, radiation safety of astronauts; Dr. TS Joy, creative writing and Ghandhian studies; Dr. Humayoon Kabir S, academic excellence and leadership in library and information science; Dr Yahya A. Ismayil for his pivotal contributions in developing supercapacitors and Mr. Shameem Yusuf, renowned author.
