Man Brutally Mutilated, Left Blind After Attack In Kodungallur
A young man from Alappuzha was found grievously injured in Kodungallur, Thrissur, after being subjected to an inhuman assault. The victim, identified as Sudarshanan, a native of Thuravoor in Alappuzha, was discovered in a severely wounded state and is currently undergoing treatment at the Thrissur Medical College Hospital, as per local media.
According to police reports, Sudarshanan had suffered extensive injuries, including the severing of his genitals and loss of vision in one eye. Medical examinations confirmed that his genitals had to be surgically removed as part of emergency treatment due to the extent of the damage.

The Kodungallur Police, who arrived at the spot upon being alerted by locals, identified the victim and informed his family. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway to identify those responsible for the gruesome assault.
Speaking to the media, the victim’s brother Murukan, said the incident was “inhuman and beyond imagination,” adding that some individuals from Alappuzha are suspected to be behind the attack.

He also mentioned that their family has political affiliations with the BJP/RSS, and they suspect that members of the SDPI may be involved in the crime.
Police sources confirmed that the victim, Sudarshanan, has a criminal record and is an accused in nine cases, including a 2013 murder case in Cherthala, in which SDPI worker Muneer was killed. However, officials clarified that the earlier case was not politically motivated but stemmed from a property dispute.
Investigators are examining whether the latest assault has any connection to old rivalries or criminal feuds. The police have recorded statements from the family and are collecting evidence from the scene.
