Messi Kerala Visit Fraud: GST Dept Imposes Rs 56 Crore Penalty On Reporter TV Broadcasting Company
Kerala: The Goods and Services Tax (GST) department has slapped a fine of Rs 56 crore on Reporter TV’s broadcasting company in connection with alleged financial irregularities linked to the sponsorship of Lionel Messi’s Kerala visit.
The fine includes the tax dues and its penalties, according to the reports. The total amount payable is Rs 56.32 crore, comprising Rs 25.78 crore in tax, Rs 4.76 crore in interest, and a 100% penalty of Rs 25.78 crore for tax evasion.
