A bus from Kerala has been recently trending on social media. A Benz luxury coach coasting Rs 1.05 crore reached Kasaragod on Saturday from Lal Bagh in Bengaluru. This trending bus is used for the Kerala government’s Nava Kerala Sadas in which the chief minister along with other cabinet members will tour to all 140 constituencies in the state.

The bus reached the inaugural venue for the Nava Kerala Sadas on Saturday morning. Though the government tried to keep it down the peculiarities of the luxury bus, the social media was abuzz with speculation about its features and specialties.
The bus began its journey today from Kasaragod and will conclude on December 24 at Vattiyoorkavu constituency in Thiruvananthapuram district. As per news nine, the bus chassis cost around Rs 44 lakh and Rs 35 lakh was spend on building the body of the bus. The bus also has a bio-toilet costing Rs 11 lakh. Other features also includes a dining area, fridge and microwave and special elevator.
The bus has also drawings of Kerala’s iconic destinations engraved on the sides. The Chinese fishing net, the houseboats, the temples, mosques, and churches are beautifully drawn on sides.
The body of the bus was manufactured by SM Kannappa Automobiles based in Karnataka. The Bharat Benz classic model of 1624 was handed over for body construction in September. The 12-metre long bus has all facilities which are found in the caravan. Out of total 25 seats in the bus, the front chair is designated for chief minister was specially designed and imported from China and it has the feature of 360 rotation, reports Manorama online.
The most attractive look of the bus is its exterior painted in chocolate brown colour. As per the rule, only white colour is permitted for carriage buses but brown colour has been chosen on the special direction of the Transport Department.
This is the first of the kind procured for the Nava Kerala Sadas, said the KSRTC. And added that they are planning to procure two more buses and plans to use them for budget tourism. As per a report, the buses will be rented for private contract and marriages.
