Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav said on Monday that his party”s “Pichhde, Dalit, Alpsankhyak” also constitute tribals and “Agde” or forward section of the population.

“Be it “Agde” or “Advasi,” all are included in the PDA for which our party is batting,” SP supremo told reporters as he reached Lucknow for his PDA yatra.

PDA, a term coined by the party referring to “Pichada, Dalit, Alpsankhyak-Muslims” i.e., backward, Dalits and minorities, especially Muslims. The party chose PDA as their 2024 election slogan, which also alludes to 85% of the total voters in the Uttar Pradesh.

SP is currently leading ‘Desh Bachao, Desh Banao’ bicycle rally; began on August 9, rally has been continuing steady over 82 days and has covered more than 5000 km. This phase of the bicycle rally, joined by SP leader beginning from Lucknow”s Purvanchal Expressway to Janeshwar Mishra Park, covering a distance of 20km is called as “Samajwadi PDA Yatra.” Through this rally, Mr Yadav will kick-start his campaign for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

SP leader said that he is undertaking the rally to raise awareness about the threat to social justice and rights and honour of the people, as well as to stress for caste census.

On PDA, Mr Yadav said: “It is for saving the country from the forces conspiring to divide it.”

SP leader, referring to the 2024 general election, also said: “The path to the nation”s progress will come through Uttar Pradesh.”

Besides, he attacked the present state of health infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh under the Yogi Adityanath-led BJP government. Even though Dengue is spreading fast, and 20 death reports were observed in some villages, “the state government is sleeping.” Adding further, SP surpemo said that government is not spending adequate money on Health sector.

“BJP only indulges in conspiracies and spreads rumours through you (media). It has nothing new to show,” remarked Mr Yadav ahead of the rally.

The bicycle yatra will conclude in Etawah”s Saifai on November 22.
