BJP Third List: Party Chief K Annamalai Among Candidates For Tamil Nadu

The BJP candidates list released on Wednesday carries names from Tamil Nadu including state wing chief K Annamalai who has been fielded from Coimbatore. This is the third list of candidates from the ruling party. The Central Election Committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has met recently and finalised these names for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

From Chennai South, BJP has nominated former Telangana Governor and state chief Dr Tamilisai
Soundararajan, while Vinod P Shelvam has been fielded from Chennai Central. DMK, part of the Opposition alliance, has fielded media baron Dayanidhi Maran for this constituency. Thamizhachi Thangapandian is DMK candidate from South Chennai.

In Vellore, Dr. A. C. Shanmugam will contest on BJP’s ticket.

C Narasimhan will contest from Krishnagiri, while Union minister L Murugan has been fielded from reserved Nilgiris constituency.

Other candidates include T. R. Paarivendhar from Perambalur and Nainar Nagendran from Tirunelveli.

Former Union minister Pon Radhakrishnan will be repeated from his old constituency – Kanniyakumari. Mr Radhakrishnan, who won the Lok Sabha elections in 2014, had lost to Vasanthakumar in 2019 and to Vijay Vasanth in 2021 bypolls.
