Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy: Congress Debutant For Bhongir Lok Sabha Seat

Edited by Kabani R

Congress candidate Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy is gearing up for his poll debut from Telangana’s Bhongir Lok Sabha Constituency. He is pitted against BRS leader Kyama Mallesham and BJP’s Dr Boora Narsaiah Goud.

In his extensive election campaigns, Kiran Kumar Reddy expressed his confidence of winning the election. He listed out rising number of accidents, lack of underpasses, unemployment, pending irrigation facilities and unfulfilled infrastructure-related promises as the issues in the constituency. Rather than mere allegations, Congress candidate presents detailed roadmap for the development of the constituency and pledges to resolve the issues if he elected as parliamentarian. He has also challenged his rival candidate and BJP leader Dr Goud to reveal the details of developmental works he undertook in the constituency during his tenure as Bhongir MP.

Meanwhile, Kiran Kumar has recently caught in a controversy as Adibatla police registered a criminal case against him along with two others in a property dispute case.

In 2019 Lok Sabha election, Bhongir witnessed a fierce fight between Congress’s Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Telangana Rashtra Samithi’s (now BRS) incumbent MP Dr Boora Narsaiah Goud. Venkat Reddy ousted sitting Parliamentarian from power by just 5219 votes. In 2022, Dr Goud quit BRS and joined BJP. Now he is contesting on a BJP ticket from the parliamentary seat.

Bhongir Lok Sabha seat is formed in 2008 following Delimitation. It comprise seven assembly segments including Ibrahimpatnam, Munugode, Bhuvanagiri, Nakrekal, Thungathurthi, Alair and Jangaon.
