In the upcoming Lok Sabha election, the Indian National Congress has fielded Amitbhai Chavda from the Anand Lok Sabha constituency. It is said that Chavda know the art of politics. He started his political career with the National Students Union of India (NSUI). He was also a member of the Indian Youth Congress (IYC). He entered the election arena in 2004. From there own, he served as the MLA for five times. He has not lost in any election since 2004. Chavda is currently serving as the leader of Congress Legislative Party of Gujarat. He also has been the President of the Gujarat Pradesh Congress.

The 46-year-old Amitbhai Chavda is contesting against the Bharatiya Janata Party”s Mitesh Patel. Congress has not been able to win a single seat during the past two Lok Sabha elections in Gujarat.

With BJP”s winning streak in the past years and Chavda”s history of not losing, the election battle in Anand will be neck on neck. Anand is also the hometown of Chavda. So far Congress has won the Anand seat for 11 times and BJP has won the seat for four times. The last time Congress won the seat was in 2009. It is to note that, the BJP won the total of 156 seats from 182-member Gujarat Assembly during the 2023 Assembly election, while Congress has only won a distant 17 seats.
