Prajwal Revanna: What BJP Leader Devaraje Gowda Revealed To Amit Shah In 2023

Amid the sexual harassment charges against JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna, new details are pouring in, with the latest being that the BJP’s Holenarasipur candidate Deveraje Gowda flagged the sexual misconduct case, warning Union Home Minister Amit Shah from creating an alliance with the JD(S) months before Prajwal was fielded as the NDA candidate from Hassan Lok Sabha constituency.

With a subject line stating “serious matter regarding the coalition with Karnataka regional party JDS and the national party BJP for the forthcoming parliament elections 2024,” Gowda addressed the discussions within the party about a possible alliance with the JD(S) for the national elections.

Gowda stated the Revanna family—MLA HD Revanna, his wife Bhavani Revanna, MLC Suraj Revanna, and Prajwal Revanna—were involved in “illegal activities such as kidnapping, rape, etc., and other inhuman activities.”

In a letter dated December 8, 2023, Gowda explicitly mentioned Prajwal Revanna as a “womaniser” and “psycho in nature” who is involved in several “illegal activities with women.” Revanna has recorded himself with the women, including “physical and sexual activities,” in a number of videos, the letter stated. Moreover, Gowda claimed that both Congress and he have received pen drives containing the said videos.

The videos, reportedly over 2,900 in number, were circulated through numerous pen drives in Hassan shortly before the Lok Sabha elections scheduled for April 26. The videos are allegedly shot by Prajwal Revanna himself.

Addressing the BJP leadership, Gowda expressed his worries about the opposition, Congress party, using the said pen drives during elections against the party and its leaders if an alliance is formed between the national and the regional party. Elaborating on his experience as a local resident, Gowda stated that the Revanna family can only win the elections by joining the saffron party.

Accusing Bhavani Revanna of being ‘inhuman’ towards the people residing in the Hassan region, Gowda requested the BJP leadership review the situation before creating an alliance with the JD(S) members and giving a ticket to Revanna in the Lok Sabha elections.

“The above mentioned are all facts and documented, and it will be produced wherever it is necessary, considering all the above facts, I sincerely and humbly request you to kindly review the situation perfectly and practically and take the necessary decisions in the interest of Society and Mankind,” Gowda wrote.

In the 2023 assembly elections, Gowda was defeated by Prajwal’s father HD Revanna from the Holenarasipur assembly seat.
