Pradyut Bordoloi Of Congress Triumphs In Nagoan

The Nagoan (or Nowgong) constituency of Assam witnessed the victory of Pradhyut Bordoloi on a Congress ticket in the Lok Sabha election with a margin of 2,12,231 votes against his rival Suresh Borah of the BJP.

Following his victory in the 2019 Lok Sabha election, Pradyut Bordoloi has again won in the Nagoan constituency on congress ticket as he secured 7,88,850 votes, where his opponent Suresh Bora of BJP bagged 5,76,619 votes.

Pradyut Bordoloi started his political journey through an active interest in student politics, holding the position of President of the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) unit in Assam. He developed a strong commitment to social justice and defended the rights of underrepresented groups during this time.

The beginning of his political career occurred at the state level. He was elected four times to the Assam Legislative Assembly, serving as the Margherita constituency’s representative from 1998 to 2016. He served in a number of ministerial capacities during his time, including those in Finance, Power, and Education. He gained respect and acclaim for his dedication to improving infrastructure, changing education, and fostering agricultural expansion.

By running from Nowgong in the Lok Sabha elections in 2019, he expanded his horizons. His triumph established his status as a well-known national leader and signaled a dramatic change in the political climate of the area.
