Amid the seat-sharing discussions among the INDI alliance, Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Akhilesh Yadav said here that the seat talks are “taking place in a good environment.”
Earlier this week, he had said to the media regarding the seat-sharing question that the discussions will be taking place soon among the INDIA bloc in the state. He also said that not only Uttar Pradesh, but the people of the country also want to remove the BJP. “SP is in the INDIA bloc with full responsibility.” The Indian Express quoted Akhilesh as saying.
In a video shared by the news agency ANI, Akhilesh Yadav was seen saying: “I hope that you will come to know very soon that the alliance talks are taking place in a good environment.”
The Samajwadi Party also expects to get a substantial share in the discussion as it reaffirmed its position to give tickets to only winning candidates. SP is staking its claim on 60 seats in the alliance noting the performance of the party in the last election. Akhilesh Yadav is also working to secure a maximum number of seats for his party, reports Indian Today.
Reports say that during the discussion with SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, the Rashtriya Lok Dal party (RLP) has asked for over 6 to 9 seats. There were also reports on the potential tussles among the parties within the INDIA bloc over seat distribution.
However, with Akhilesh Yadav indicating that the seat-sharing talk is taking place in a good environment, it is learnt that the parties are finding consensus on the seat-sharing discussion.
