The 2024 Lok Sabha elections in the Faridabad constituency concluded with a fierce contest, resulting in BJP’s incumbent MP Krishan Pal Gurjar winning with 788,569 votes and a margin of 17,294 over seasoned Congress leader Mahendra Pratap Singh in Haryana.
Krishan Pal Gurjar, the current Minister of State for Power and Heavy Industries, sought re-election to continue his tenure. Representing the Faridabad constituency since 2014, Gurjar has a long political career, including serving as Transport Minister in the Bansi Lal government and as BJP State President of Haryana.
In the 2019 elections, he secured a landslide victory with 913,222 votes, defeating INC’s Avtar Singh Bhadana by a margin of over 6 lakh votes.
Mahendra Pratap Singh, a veteran Congress leader, mounted a vigorous campaign against Gurjar, denouncing his reliance on the Modi wave and emphasizing the need for on-ground work and genuine local representation. Faridabad, encompassing the entire Faridabad district and Palwal, is a key constituency in Haryana, adjoining the national capital, Delhi.
