There are speculations that Bihar Chief Minister and Janata Dal (United) Chief Nitish Kumar will quit INDIA alliance and return to BJP-led NDA alliance. Nitish Kumar, one of the key figures in the INDIA bloc and reportedly the chief architect of the alliance, was associated with the NDA two years ago. As the buzz regarding JD(U) chief”s next move is increasing, senior journalist and acclaimed author Saba Naqvi makes some interesting assumptions and said that if Nitish Kumar ditch his alliance again it would reduce him to a “joke”.
Taking to social media platform X, Saba Naqvi writes: “It is quite evident that Nitish Kumar is pissed off with I.N.D.I.A alliance, But I am racking my brain to figure out what BJP can give him that he may want. Would he want money (probably not as he has no family). Would he want power but in BJP/NDA no ally has power and Modi alone does. Could he want revenge for not becoming Convenor of INDIA? That he could get. Such rumination based on speculative reports that he is ditching alliance and no confirmation. He may well be posturing for seats within alliance but increasingly scribes saying more to it. But if he does ditch again, it would also reduce him to a joke.”

NDTV reports citing sources that Bihar Chief Minister will not to be joining Congress leader Rahul Gandhi”s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra when it enters Bihar on January 30. Aside from that, on Wednesday, while addressing a programme, Nitish Kumar took a jibe at “dynastic politics” and said: “You all know that I have never sought to promote any of my family members” which also indirectly reflect the existence of internal conflict between him and INDIA alliance.
It seems all is not so well within INDIA bloc. INDIA (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance) bloc, a 28 party grouping formulated to present a united front against the ruling BJP in the 2024 General Elections is currently facing internal crisis as members expressing independent standpoint with regarding fighting Lok Sabha polls.
