The SP candidate from Firozabad, Akshaya Yadav, is currently leading in the constituency with 542865 votes, surpassing his closest rival by a significant margin of 89582 votes. BJP candidate Vishwadeep Singh has secured the second position with a commendable 453,283 votes, while the BSP’s Chaudhary Basheer trails in third place with 90,943 votes.
Akshay Yadav, the SP candidate, contested in the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Firozabad. In 2014, he secured victory by a significant margin, and in 2019, he faced fierce competition against Dr. Chandra Sen Jadon.
Vishwadeep Singh, the BJP candidate who is from the Thakur community, had contested in the 2014 Lok Sabha election from the constituency on a BSP ticket but lost. He joined BJP ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. He is the son of the first MP from Firozabad, Brajraj Singh.
Firozabad, located in Uttar Pradesh, has a rich political history and stands as a crucial constituency in North India. In the 2014 election, Akshaya Yadav won the election by receiving 534583 votes on the SP ticket, while BJP Prof S. P. Singh Baghel garnered 420524 votes. However, in the 2019 Lok Sabha election, the Firozabad constituency witnessed fierce competition between SP stalwart Akshaya Yadav and BJP’s Dr. Jadon. Chandra Sen won the seat by securing 495819 votes and Akshay Yadav received 467038 votes.
