Aditya Yadav, the SP candidate from Badaun, is leading in the constituency with 4,65,583 votes, surpassing his nearest rival by a margin of 34,269 votes. BJP candidate Durvijay Singh Shakya has secured the second position with commendable 431,314 votes, while the BSP’s Muslim Khan trails in third with 89,982 votes.
Aditya Yadav the SP candidate from the constituency is aged 35 and holds a post graduate degree. He is the son of the national secretary of Samajwadi party Shivpal Yadav.
Durvijay Singh Sakya, the BJP candidate from the constituency, is 47-year-old and also holds a Post Graduate degree.
The Badaun Lok Sabha constituency is a General Category seat. Badaun, a significant Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh, has a rich historical legacy. It served as the capital of the Delhi Sultanate during 1210 CE to 1214 CE under Sultan Iltutmish. In recent times, Badaun has been a political battleground, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) gaining prominence in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections when Sanghmitra Maurya emerged victorious, defeating the Samajwadi Party (SP) candidate Dharmendra Yadav.
In the 2014 election, SPs Dharmendra Yadav won the election by receiving 498378 votes while BJPs Vagish Pathak garnered 332031 votes. However, in the 2019 Lok Sabha election, the Badaun constituency witnessed a fierce competition between BJPs stalwart Dr Sanghmitra Maurya and SPs Dharmendra Yadav. Dr Sanghmitra Maurya won the seat by securing 511352 votes and Dharmendra Yadav received 492898 votes.
