Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) chief Prakash Ambedkar on Sunday (March 10) expressed serious concern over the stagnation in the finalising of the seat-sharing talk among the opposition alliance in Maharashtra. In his letter to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Prakash Ambedkar noted the lazy attitude of the state political alliance Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) in finalising the seat-sharing arguments for the imminent Lok Sabha election.
Sharing the letter to his social media platform X (formerly Twitter) the VBA chief wrote that he approached the Maharashtra Congress in-charge Ramesh Chennithala and had extensive telephonic communication with him. “Chennithala ji shared his concern of Shiv Sena (UBT) being adamant on at least 18 seats. I proposed that Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi and Congress should sit together and have a discussion on all those seats which the Congress has in mind and demanded in the MVA,” he wrote.
The letter began by raising his concern noting that the date for the Lok Sabha election would be announced this week or next and the seat-sharing equations among the Maha Vikas Aghadi have not yet been finalised. “Despite the laziness and lack of hurriedness, we remain positive but the lazy attitude of MVA is very concerning, to say the least. I understand there is a lack of concurrence between the Indian National Congress and Shiv Sena (UBT) and no finalisation of the sharing formula in the MVA.
Mr Prakash Ambedkar had recently stated that his Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi will not attend the Baramati rally organised by the opposition alliance without finalising the seat sharing.
However, the VBA chief further expressed his hope that the Congress and VBA will soon finalise the seat-sharing agreements. “I hope Congress and VBA will soon sit together so that we can forward to topple the BJP-RSS government,” he wrote.
I wrote a letter to Shri Mallikarjun Kharge on March 10, wherein I highlighted the telephonic conversation between Shri Ramesh Chennithala and I.
