'Ambedkarites Do Not Bow Down To Pressure, We Learnt From Babasaheb': Dalit Leader On Ban Of X Handles (Photo on X Prakash Ambedkar @Prksh_Ambedkar)

Dalit leader and Vanchit Bahujan Aaghadi president Prakash Ambedkar today took to his social media platform X (formerly Twitter),  expressing his anguish over the BJP-led government’s alleged suppression of the dissent by banning the X handles of Hansraj Meena, a writer and socio-political activist and TribalArmy.

Sharing the information for the public understanding, Prakash Ambedkar with the caption ‘dark days!’ wrote that the handles have been banned at the directions of the “cowardly BJP-RSS government.” Both accounts had been posting content criticizing the government on different policies.

“This is NOT the first time Dalit and Adivasi voices have been censored. Whenever there is dissent from and for the deprived and marginalised sections —  Dalits, Adivasis and Muslims – of the society, the government moves every stone to curb and censor these advocating voices,” the Dalit leader penned.

Mr Prakash Ambedkar further noted that different governments have tried to censor and curb his free speech from time to time. “But what they forgot is that the Ambedkarites do NOT bow down to any pressure; we learnt from the very best — Babasaheb,” Vanchit Bahujan Aaghadi founder wrote, asserting the architect of the constitution Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar’s ideas.

He further declared his solidarity with Hansraj Meena and all other dissenting marginalized voices.

However, with the government increasingly resorting to withhold the social media accounts of those who wrote against it, many on the platform are raising the issue, viewing it a dangerous situation.

An X user, Yash Meghwa, wrote, “Twitter India should restore the account of Hansraj Meena as voices of dissent are necessary for democracy.” Many others too have requested the platform to restore the accounts withheld by the alleged government orders. Many farmer”s leader”s social media platforms have also been suspended following the recent farmers” protest.
