Saudi Arabia’s mediation reflects its prospective strategic role in regional stability, leveraging its influence as a key Islamic nation, especially after a similar discussion between Prince Faisal and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on May 7, 2025. The move highlights broader international concern over the nuclear-armed neighbors’ conflict, per the U.S. State Department.
Ministry of Defence and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh and Col Sofiya Qureshi addressed the nation in a joint special briefing on Saturday.
As per the briefing, Pakistan had launched a high speed missile in Punjab and attacked medical facilities in Srinagar, Avantipura and Udhampur.
Col Sofiya Qureshi said that a befitting reply has been given to Pakistani actions, pointing out that Pakistan military used high-speed missiles at 1.40 am to target air base in Punjab. She said Pakistan also targeted health facilities and schools at its three air bases in Indian-controlled Kashmir.
