The AFC Asian Cup 2023, the quadrennial continental event, is set to enter its 18th edition in 2024. The event was originally slated to get underway in 2023 but due to high temperatures and Qatar”s participation in the 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup, it was postponed to January 2024.
The Asian Cup is largely dominated by only a few teams in its last 17 editions. However, in its expanded format, which features 24 teams, the underdogs will look to turn it around.
