Bangladesh Cricket Director Khaled Mahmud Resigns Due To Political Turmoil

Khaled Mahmud resigned as the director of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Wednesday.

The former Bangladesh captain cut short his role, which was supposed to come to an end next year, due to political turmoil in the country.

The grim situation has created a ripple effect in the affairs of the board as his resignation comes after former president Nazmul Hasan stepped down. Several other board directors, including Jalal Yunus, Shafiul Alam Chowdhury, and Naimur Rahman, have also stepped down from their respective position.

Mahmud oversaw a period as chairman of Bangladesh’s game development where they won the ICC Under-19 tournament in 2020. Besides that, he served as the interim head coach of the Bangladesh senior team and team manager on different occasions.
