Barca Unveils New Jersey As A Tribute To Their First-Ever Kit From 1899

The Spanish football giant, Barcelona has unfolded a new home strip for the upcoming season 2024-25. As the club celebrates its 125 years of history, the new kit pays homage to Barca’s first-ever shirt that goes back to 1899.

The Catalans will be back in half-and-half shirts for their new campaign. The classic look that always goes down well with the fans is expected to be a big seller once again this year.

The club has promoted the launch of its first jersey with an audiovisual campaign. Several legendary players have come together to voice out the club’s style of play. The video features club legends such as Ronaldinho and Andres Iniesta alongside the current players of the club Gavi, Pedri, Lamine Yamal, Ronald Araujo, Pau Cubarsi and Alexia Putellas.

Legendary footballer Ronaldinho opens the video and passes it to the current players. The one-minute forty-seven-second video also includes montages of historic footballing moments of the club. Women players of the club too have come together by making a human tower along with the Colla Castellers from Poble Sec.

Releasing the new jersey design, the club stated, “To celebrate the Club’s 125 years of history, the FC Barcelona jersey’s design for the 2024/25 season is inspired by the Club’s legacy, history and beginnings. Using the colors blue and maroon, present as a main element in the badge, a distinct, unique and symbolic design has been created that evokes the team’s identity throughout its history.”

The jersey will continue to have the UNHCR/ACNUR logo below the number, besides the sponsor logos on the front and the sleeves.
